Everyone seems to think they know who the world’s greatest rapper is. To many, it’s Eminem; to others it’s between Kendrick Lamar, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and so on and so forth. But the truth is that the title itself is entirely subjective.

Whether you think the answer is Eminem or Busta Rhymes or Tupac, the simple fact is that you’re wrong: There is no “best rapper alive,” (or dead for that matter). However, there are some qualities and traits that can be calculated and ranked. Some examples of this would be “The fastest rapper” or “The most lyrical rapper.”

Of course, there are many other categories that one could fall under but as long as you compare rappers on the basis of who is the “greatest” or “best,” you’re simply talking about a matter of opinion.

So today, I’m going to be sharing with you some rappers who meet objective qualifications, and are subjectively considered to be the World’s Greatest Rappers.

1. The first rapper on the list is Aesop Rock. Now Aesop Rock is objectively the most lyrical rapper ever. What that means is that if you were to take the works of every rapper who’s ever lived, Aesop Rock, by far, has the largest vocabulary in Hip-Hop.

Because of the similarity in names, whenever I bring up Aesop Rock, people often think I’m referring to ASAP Rocky. They are not the same person. Aesop is not as well known, and frankly, most of his lyrics go over the heads of listeners. For this reason, I believe, he is not nearly as popular today as he should be.

2. The second rapper on the list is Twista. Twista was awarded the world record title of “Fastest Rapper Alive” by Guinness back in 1992. He can rap at an outstanding rate of 11.2 syllables per second. He may not be one of the most well-known rappers out there but the fact remains the same and Twista will go down in history as one of the greats for his unique rapping abilities!

3. Number three is Lil’ Wayne. Alright, now I know this one is going to be controversial. When it comes to Lil’ Wayne, people seem to either love him or hate him. But no matter your opinion of his music or how you feel about him as an individual, the fact remains the same: No one in Hip-Hop can produce hit after hit, year after year, the way that Lil’ Wayne does. Since 2000, Lil Wayne has reached the top 100 charts 78 times (and counting)! The simple fact is that Lil Wayne knows how to make hits and sell records!
